E-portfolios for Art and Design students
This section of my blog will allow discussion to form regarding e-portfolio implementation for art and design students. As resources are ever changing adopting processes that will be at the forefront of technological advances can allow innovation and advancement to follow. The use of an e-portfolio not only acknowledges student IT literacy but encourages additional strategies and methods of teaching. I am sure there are many strengths and weaknesses within this teaching approach and would appreciate any comments and suggestions concerning this topic. Thanks!

After much reading on the topic of e-portfolio's and undertaking the first part of my masters module on the topic, I have found many advantages of using this facility.
ReplyDeleteNot only can reflective practices and group communication take place outside of the training establishment but self confidence and active learning techniques can be developed.
A further strength of the e-portfolio implementation is the uses of formative and summative assessment techniques. The formative assessment method can here iron out any problems and troubles students may be having and the summative assessment technique can allow overall grades and achievements to be identified.
Not only this but students can also communicate through the blog and group links therefore helping each other and overcoming issues independently is overall beneficial.
